Interpretation and Analysis The EICM breast cancer detection provides all necessary image presentations for in vivo analysis in both gray-scale (conductivity increases from dark to light) or in color (conductivity increases from blue to red). Analysis tools include a contrast parameter, a region parameter, and a dual image mode of both the left and right breasts to isolate specific areas for comparison. Since the EICM does not rely on density variations, data analysis can be more objective. Both histograms and statistical spreads are displayed. This dual imaging mode also facilitates comparison of prior and current studies. Image file size is 447 KB per breast. Seven tomography slices are reconstructed within 40 seconds in tissue depths from 0.4cm to 4.6cm. Layer one: 0.4cm Layer two: 1.1cm Layer three: 1.8cm Layer four: 2.5cm Layer five: 3.2cm Layer six: 3.9cm Layer seven: 4.6cm Physical Characteristics Detection Device Height 12 cm Length 17 cm Width 16 cm Weight 1 kg Power Source/Data Interface Computer USB Port Computer System Requirements PC or Notebook Pentium processor Celeron or greater Operating System Windows 98SE, 2000, XP Application Software MEIK Breast Screening Application, Version 4.0 Installation Requirements No special room requirements. No radiation shielding. Patient to PC distance three meters or less. Early detection of breast cancer’s abnormalities An indicative offer for cooperation by providing additional service Objective The objective consists of complementary aims covering between others the complete cycle of absolutely ecological, highly efficient and very economical diagnosis and regular monitoring for health prevention and management of female breast. Proposed technology The scientific base for the proposed technology forms an active research since 1920 in electrical impedance properties of tissues. It is currently the most advanced technology having no side effects and limitations in its application. It has been approved by Russian Ministry of Health and the ISO 13485 : 2003 as an investigative devise for an early diagnostic of breast cancer. It is used as adjunct to ultrasound (US) and X-ray mammography allowing screen the breast beginning from time after the first menstrual period till the end of the person’s life, including periods of pregnancy, lactation and post-menopause and post operation period. The equipment and other requirements The screening system consists of portable PC, portable EICM, chair for examination and small table for the PC. A room or protected area of approx. 10 to 15 sqm with an access to electricity for the PC would be sufficient for comfortable and private service. No materials, like US gel or ECG spray or other facilities are needed and therefore no hazard or additional risk is involved. The screening process A low – level, biocompatible electrical current (0.5 mA, 50 kHz) is applied to the person via hand – held golden plated cylinder linked by cable with the EICM. The EICM with its sensors is held on the breast for approximately 20 seconds. The good contact between the skin and the EICM sensors is ensured by making the opposing hand to the examined breast and the examined breast wet using clear water only. The processing of data collected during the examination takes another approximately 40 seconds resulting in seven black and white or colored pictures, each at different level of depth, beginning with 0.4 cm up to 4.6 cm. The software automatically calculates and mark area(s) with risk and in need for an additional investigation by medical doctor of own choice be it gynecologist, radiologist, oncologist etc. The total time needed for quality service including and archiving safely all data varies between 12 and 20 minutes, depending on number of examined position and the total number of pictures taken.
